Reptile, whose real name is Syzoth, is a character from the Mortal Kombat franchise. He is a reptilian humanoid, belonging to a near-extinct race called the Saurians.

Driven by a desperate hope to resurrect his lost civilization of Zaterra, Reptile is often manipulated by villains. Initially serving as Shang Tsung's hidden bodyguard, he primarily obeys out of the promise of Zaterra's restoration. His loyalty shifts to figures like Shao Kahn and Quan Chi throughout the series.

Reptile is characterized by his green scales, acidic attacks, and stealthy movements. His signature moves often involve camouflage, corrosive spit, and transforming partially or fully into his reptilian form. His motivations are always tied to the desperate need to bring his race back from the brink of oblivion, making him a tragic and often conflicted figure in the Mortal Kombat universe.
